Western Mercantile Agency, Inc

History

Western Mercantile Agency was started in 1932 by a husband and wife duo who lived in Coquille, Oregon. In 1971, Patricia Webster started her career with the company and learned every facet of the business. She was a shaker and mover who worked her way to a management position within a few short years.  She grew the business from four employees to what it is today.  In 1986, she purchased the business from Thomas O'Dwyer. A year later she saw the necessity of upgrading the business to a fully computerized agency.  She has always strived to have cutting-edge technology in order to give exceptional customer service.

Michelle has been raised in the collection business.  As a young child, Mr. O'Dwyer allowed Patricia to bring her to work; there she closely watched and helped her mother. She knew she wanted to someday follow in her mother's footsteps.  In 1995, Michelle returned to Coos Bay where she began her career at Western Mercantile Agency.  In 1999, she took over the management of the company. Michelle operates the company on the same high standards as her mother.  This family-owned business strives to be community-focused and operates with high integrity and dedication in order to generate high returns while ensuring the reputation of our clients.
